What to Expect in Forest Rock's
Level 1 Teacher Training

'Join me on a journey into your heart,
where you get to visit the real you.'
- Peter Caughey

Hi,
I'm Peter Caughey, founder of the Forest Rock Taiji & Qigong School.

I'm a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, an Acupuncturist, a Chinese medical Herbalist and a Medical Qi Gong and Tuina Practitioner.

I am also a Master of Qi Gong and Taiji (Tai Chi) and I have been training and teaching for 30 years.

Qi Gong is such a beautiful vehicle to bring your mind and body into the present moment and to have experiences of yourself as an energetic being. It takes you into your heart where you get to visit the real you. This can give you an opportunity to discover why you are here, alive on this planet and it may even give you a glimpse of your purpose in life.

You get to feel a deeper connection to other people and nature. When you walk around, you can feel that you are part of something bigger than yourself. This gives you the ability to look out into the world with different eyes, with clarity and a new sense of wonder. You will see the world very, very differently than you did before. You will see yourself in your life in a new way because of the newly found visions and expressions.

Chinese Medicine sees the physical body energetically and it has been studying for thousands of years how to bring the physical body and mind back into balance to restore harmony. I have studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for 30 years and I am still mesmerised how accurate it is.

Qigong is an integral component of TCM. I teach Qigong exercises with the understanding of their TCM functions, not just the physical aspect of the exercises but with the deeper understanding of how the energy or Qi moves in the deep levels of the body and how it effects the homeostasis of the inner functioning and organs of the body.Ā

Come and join me for this Qigong Teacher Training. It will change your life and as you open up, you step through a different doorway in your life.Ā

You will get to look out into the world with very different eyes.Ā You will get to bring more happiness into your life andĀ will experience more joy by doing what you love in life.Ā

Live with passion and live your new life in your brand new world.

See you on the Training.

Much care,
Peter Caughey

Peter Larking – Supporting Facilitator

Introducing our other main facilitator of the Training, Pete Larking. He is the only person qualified in the Southern Hemisphere to train others in Neuropuncture, which is the study of neuroscience and acupuncture. This is a new field and Pete L is one of its leaders, having taught bio medical sciences, neurological anatomy, Chinese Medical theory, Tuina, Qigong, Taiji quan and advanced acupuncture systems at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture for over 15 years.Ā

Alex Rowberry – Supporting Facilitator

My background is in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture combined with Chinese Medical Qi gong and Taiji. I studied at the New Zealand School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, completing a Health Science degree and Qi gong and Taiji Diploma.

I specialise in treating shingles. I have spent the last decade researching, treating and recording the best form of treatment Chinese Medicine can provide including herbal formulas and topical creams. As I had the painful pathology for many years and could not find adequate diagnosis or treatment, now I provide it.

My area of interest remains within fertility both male and female. I was lucky to complete an internship as part of my degree where I worked at a local hospital for 12 months treating pregnant women in crisis and learning about fertility from Chinese perspective. Now I apply this invaluable knowledge to my clinical practice. I will be teaching Five Elements level one theory, Male and Female Fertility and Shi Ba Shi, 5 Elements and Heaven to Earth Qigong systems.

I have been practicing Qi gong for nearly 10 years now and the impact on my daily life has been immense. It has changed who I am at the core, given my spiritual, emotional and physical strength beyond any form of training I have ever done. The most inspiring quality Qi gong gives me is peace. When I can find no peace in life what so ever. Because we do after all live in 2023, its busy its tough and itā€™s hard to focus. I turn to my practice. It gives me peace, clarity of mind and physical strength. I practice every day for at least 15 minutes mostly in the morning. Without this constant practice I know I would not be able to achieve what I do.

My favourite quote is:

ā€œWe are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts. We make the world.” – Buddha

Hear From Our Students

Erika Eden

“Words can hardly convey the konwledge and skills you will gain from this Qigong Teacher Training.

Open and allow, and you will gain value far beyond just teaching skills; your life will shift and grow magnificently!”

Walter Askins

“This course is much more than Qigong. it is the creation of a community of people coming together to learn and create friendships that could last a lifetime. In a lot of online courses based on Qigong, it is all about the movement, the exercise.

In this course it is about people. People learning about Qigong to help people.”

Dave Hoyle

“It has been a privilege to study with Pete. I’m experiencing myself very differently to how I was 9 weeks ago. Thai massage is my everyday and the way I’m experiencing my work and the way I’m connecting to my clients, experiencing another system and being able to read that, has developed so much.”
