Watch the video and try this powerful Qi Gong exercise and experience stillness inside your body.

Experience what it feels like just to be content in quiet and stillness.

One of the misconceptions about standing meditation is that sometimes people think it is going to be painful — for standing up for such a long time. You might think that your mind is going to be busy and not be peaceful — that somehow by standing you’re just going to torture yourself. But that’s not what actually happens at all.

Standing Qi Gong meditation helps you to experience stillness, it helps you to create an experience of quietness inside your body and inside your mind.

Zhan Zhuang Gong creates stillness inside the body — it is a special set of Qi Gong exercise.

The way our body’s structure stands in the postures creates a lot of energy pathways that increase the flow of energy in the body.

When we are standing quietly, it also affect the mind. These exercises slow and calm the mind down. We get a lot more clarity of thoughts. And clarity of who we are.

One of the biggest use of energy in our body is using our energy for cogninitve thinking. Thinking uses a lot of power. You will have more energy when you have a quiet mind.

You can incorporate Zhan Zhuang Qi Gong exercises in the morning and at night. The morning practice can be a practice for energizing your body — building up more Qi and more power in your body.

You can also practice Zhan Zhuang Qi Gong at night time to slow you down, calm your body and Heart. This helps to prepare you for sleep so you can have a better and more restful sleep.

Golden Rooster Standing on One Leg is the last exercise of the whole set. It’s a posture that brings connection, connection to the Earth and to Heaven. It is a connection between the inner part of ourselves and the outer part of ourselves.

This posture connects both your mind and consciousness — the Yin and Yang together.

This balances and harmonizes your whole body and consciousness. Becoming aware of what’s going on around you, and being aware of what’s going on inside of yourself and other people.

This one exercise helps you to experience this by bringing you into a very different state of consciousness, so that you can be aware of all of these things the same time.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Begin with your hands at your sides, palms facing down.
  2. Bring your weight to the right foot, raise your left arm upwards, and the left leg up at the same time.

  3. Raise the leg to a 45-degree angle, with the foot at a 45-degree angle as well.
